Christian schools must think of themselves as parts of an organism rather than fortresses (you know, kind of like the body of Christ)! Though they each have an individual identity and mission, their calling reflects the calling of the Church - to disciple individuals and nations. Further, they are not just protecting their existences or (worse) fighting against one another. Their work reflects a corporate calling that doesn't stand a chance apart from a broader unity.
Christian schools must serve and encourage one another even as they serve their member families. Rather than thinking merely of the minimum "outside" communication they need to keep their school family happy, they need to invest in broader communication within the Church and the public to get the word out about the good they are doing. They must actively seek ways to link with other churches and schools as well as communicate their care and service to the community. This communication may be costly, but it is necessary to the mission given by our "corporate Head"!
